Valentines Day is a day of love, but what is love?
For me, love is celebration and joy, together with acceptance and non-attachment. Love is not the past or the future. Love is here and now, available to us all in this moment.
Practicing love in my work and my life means I celebrate and take joy in all that I do. I accept myself, situations, and other people as they are, and try to practice non-attachment.
I can easily find myself attached to my emotions, to situations, and other people. When I live my life in this way, my happiness is dependent on many internal and external factors I cannot control. Being unattached allows me to enjoy what I like and leave the rest.
Practicing self-love nurtures my confidence and allows me the opportunity to take care of my health and well-being. Actively practicing self-love provides me with all that I need to be my best self and do my best work.
In honor of self-love and Valentines Day, join Hilly, me, and a whole bunch of other bloggers for Self-Love Day!
HERE ARE THE RULES!!!
1.) Post one of these banners on your blog and declare February 14th as the day you not only love your one and only, but the day that you love yourself!
2.) Post one nice thing about yourself……then ask others to post one thing that they really like about you.
3.) Enjoy yourself!
My one nice thing about myself today is compassion. I’m a good listener, and more than listen, I am able to listen without judgment. I am able understand the expression of another life being- be it human, animal, vegetable or mineral.
Today I urge you to celebrate self-love. Accept yourself as you are today, and love yourself in this moment. See the best you you already are.
