In a recent job interview, the business owner spoke about honoring her employees and clients. I love the concept of honoring and have been giving a lot of thought to how honoring myself and others fits into my life.
In many ways I already live my life with honor, though I haven’t thought of it in those terms, specifically. Starting today, I am going to be mindful of honoring myself and others, and making this a conscious practice.
To me, honoring someone means I respect and celebrate that person. It’s about accepting someone as they are and appreciating them for who they are. I don’t have to agree with them on all issues, I don’t necessarily even have to like them- but I will honor them.
When I think of honoring someone, I certainly put THINK (my favorite acronym!) to good use!
THINK doesn’t only apply to my words, it can also apply to my thoughts, my intentions, and my actions. It’s a positive and productive guide to honoring myself and others.
There are oh so many ways to honor someone, here are just a few!
